The Hickey Family Foundation is supporting International Medical Corps’ effort to reduce preventable newborn morbidity and mortality in conflict-affected and hard to reach areas of DRC and Sudan by strengthening the capacity to deliver quality essential and specialized newborn care, including lifesaving interventions for pre-term, premature, and sick newborns. By training healthcare workers in targeted field hospitals and health facilities, they will have improved knowledge, skills and confidence to provide essential and emergency care to newborns.

In addition, the Hickey Family Foundation also supports International Medical Corps as they provide emergency response to humanitarian crises around the world. Most recently, funding was provided for the medical crisis in Gaza, the outbreak of Ebola in the DRC, and tragic flooding in Nepal.
